During an appearance on the Understanding the Times webcast this Saturday, former Minnesota Republican congresswoman Michele Bachmann heaped praise on President Trump, declaring him to be the most “godly” and “biblical” president anyone has known.
Speaking to host Jan Markell in a segment titled Drowning in Deep State Delusion, Bachmann prayed against the “Deep State,” which, according to her, is plotting to undermine Trump.
“The Deep State are people who have permanent jobs within the federal government,” Bachmann said in an audio clip flagged by Right Wing Watch.
“Not everyone is a part of the Deep State, but you don’t need everyone,” she continued. “If you have just a hundred people who are in line with the goals to advance cultural and economic Marxism or to advance the goals of Islamic jihad, for instance, and they have jobs within the federal government, they can do very serious damage.”

According to Bachmann, it’s up to Christians to pray for the exposure of the Deep State. She then launched into a prayer herself.
“I pray according to the scripture which says we need to pray to expose — ask the Lord to expose the hidden deeds of darkness,” she prayed. “And he has remarkable ways of doing this, where you can only say it’s the hand of God who exposes the hidden deeds of darkness.”
Bachmann then declared that she has never seen “a more biblical president” than Trump.
“He is highly biblical and I would say to your listeners [that] we will, in all likelihood, never see a more godly, biblical president again in our lifetime,” she said. “So we need to be not only praying for him, we need to support him, in my opinion, in every possible way that we can.”
Bachmann is no slouch when it comes to framing Trump in a godly light. In 2017, she said that the President has been “working nonstop” since his inauguration to make America great again in the eyes of God.
“He is unashamed in standing up for increasing an awareness of God in the United States,” she said. “He recognizes how important that is and that that is a basis of Western civilization … As a believer in Jesus Christ, I could not be more happy with what I am seeing coming out of the Trump White House. This is beyond my wildest expectations.”
