Mike Huckabee: Biden’s Philadelphia speech was ‘written by Satan

During an appearance on Fox & Friends, Mike Huckabee took aim at President Joe Biden’s recent speech in Philadelphia, where he warned that former President Donald Trump and his base represent “an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic” and their alleged attempts to undermine democracy could lead to violence.

The speech has come under bipartisan criticism, with some saying Biden exploited the U.S. Marines in the backdrop for a political speech that deemed half the country as traitors.

“We need to make sure that our military is as removed from politics as possible and it’s not right if a Democrat uses the military as a political pawn and it’s not right if the Republican Party does it as well. None of our politicians or elected leaders should do that,” Allison Jaslow, a former executive director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, told CNN’s Brianna Keilar on New Day.

Huckabee chose to focus on the aesthetics of the speech, namely the red lighting and Biden’s angry tone.

“This nutty Halloween-esque setting that [Biden] had, the only thing that’s more bizarre is that somebody actually sat down and planned that, and they must have thought, ‘Boy, this is really gonna look good,'” Huckabee said.

“And I’m thinking, ‘I thinking the designer of this whole thing, including the text of his speech, was Satan,” Huckabee continued. “Because nobody else could have come up with an idea as bad as his speech and as divisive.”
