As rumors of an impending MMA match between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg heat up, Musk announced that he may need to have surgery first if the match is going to take place.
While an actual event hasn’t been announced, the two tech billionaires have been playing up the potential match. Just this Sunday, Musk said all proceeds from the match will go towards charity for veterans and would be livestreamed on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Zuckerberg, who has been training in MMA and jiu jitsu and who has already competed in jiu jitsu tournaments, ribbed Musk in a post, saying, “I’m ready today. I suggested Aug 26 when he first challenged, but he hasn’t confirmed.”
On Sunday, Musk said that the timing of a date for a match was still “in flux,” but added an excuse.
“I’m getting an MRI of my neck & upper back tomorrow,” Musk wrote. “May require surgery before the fight can happen. Will know this week.”
