An admin for the NASA Climate Change Facebook page got a little fed up with climate-denialist conspiracy theorist commenters, so he/she decided to chime in to add some science literacy to the discussion.
Bill Nye “The Science Guy” posted a link on his Facebook fan page to a DeSmogBlog article about climate-denier Marc Morano, who turned down a $20,000 bet with Nye on whether or not the planet will keep getting hotter.
That’s when a fellow named Fer Morales chimed in, claiming that NASA had data “confirming” that the “fossil fuels are actually cooling the planet’s temperature.”
NASA was having none of it.
Sure enough, more climate-denialists were at the ready, accusing NASA with the tired notion that the space agency is “fudging the numbers.”
NASA responded to both these yahoos, providing links to surface temperature analysis and temperature increases.
Of course in true conspiracy theorist fashion, they still weren’t convinced.
NASA went on to point how denialists only focus on one aspect of measuring warming as a tactic to support their claims.
The crowd was mostly pleased.
