Soon-to-be-divorced Lauren Boebert once told women having marriage troubles: ‘Chase after Jesus and your husband will chase you’

A video clip from June has resurfaced in the wake of news that Colorado GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert has filed for divorce from her husband.

The Colorado Sun reported.this Monday that Boebert has filed for divorce after around two decades of marriage. “It is with a heavy weight on my heart that I have filed for divorce from my husband. I am grateful for our years of marriage together and for our beautiful children, all of whom deserve privacy and love as we work through this process,” Boebert said in  a written statement. “I’ve always been faithful in my marriage, and I believe strongly in marriage, which makes this announcement that much more difficult.”

The 46-page divorce petition said the Boeberts’ marriage is “irretrievable broken,” and was filed on May 11. The former couple have four sons, one of whom is a 17-year-old who had a baby due in April with his girlfriend.

In the June video, Boebert spoke to an audience at the Cornerstone Christian Center and addressed women who may be struggling in their marriages.

“Are you struggling in your marriage? Begin to speak life into your marriage. Ladies, you were called to something great in your marriage. The power that you have in Christ, for your marriage, is unmatched,” Boebert said.

“And if you start chasing Jesus, with everything that you have, I promise you that your husband will chase you, chasing Jesus,” Boebert added. “To be able to speak life into a marriage that seems like it’s ending is so powerful.”
