No one knows who approved these signs directing RNC attendees to the ‘white elevators’

A bizarre throwback to the Jim Crow era was seen inside the arena where the Republican National Convention is set to be held this coming week.

According to the New York Daily News, RNC organizers are frantically moving to replace signs directing attendees to the “White Elevators.”

The signs popped up in Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena, where thousands of Republican delegates, politicians and supporters are planning to gather this July 18-20 to nominate Donald Trump as the GOP presidential nominee.

Wall Street Journal reporter Byron Tau first spotted the signs and said that RNC staffers were replacing them “for obvious reasons.”

It’s not yet known how the signs were approved or who approved them. But in Trumpland, nothing is surprising anymore.

Neither RNC organizers or Trump’s campaign has responded to the Daily News’ request for comment.
