Over half of AZ Republicans think GOP election audit will show Trump won in 2020

According to a new poll from OH Predictive Insights, a majority of Republicans in Arizona believe the election audit conducted by the state’s GOP will prove that Donald Trump won the 2020 election, The Hill reports.

The poll revealed that 62 percent of Arizona Republicans think that once the audit is completed, it will show that Trump received more votes that Joe Biden. Another 21 percent of Republicans say Biden’s victory will stand, while another 16 percent say they don’t know either way.

Sixty-one percent of Republicans agreed with the statement that “evidence has been uncovered which shows that the election was stolen from President Trump in a number of states that the media and election officials have called for Joe Biden.” Another 55 percent said they agreed that the audit should be conducted.

As The Hill and numerous other reports have pointed out, there’s no evidence that widespread voter fraud tipped the election in Biden’s favor. Biden won in Arizona by more than 10,000 votes in 2020. It was the first time a Democratic candidate won the state since 1996.

“The irregularities revealed at the hearing today amount to hundreds of thousands of votes or, many times what is necessary for us to have won,” Trump said in a statement after a briefing in Arizona on Thursday on the audit. “There was no victory here, or in any other of the Swing States either.”
