Paul Pelosi attacker apologizes for not doing more violence: ‘I should have come better prepared’

The man arrested in the attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband said he should have been more prepared, according to a jailhouse interview he gave to a local news reporter.

Speaking to KTVU from a jailhouse phone, David DePape said he wanted to wanted to make a statement. DePape, who is facing state charges of attempted murder and elder abuse, as well as charges in federal court for kidnapping, said he didn’t want to jeopardize his case.

DePape said he attacked Pelosi because people’s liberties are being threatened. He also apologized for not doing more, saying that the people allegedly destroying liberty “have names and addresses, so I got their names and addresses so I could pay them a little visit…have a heart to heart chat about their bad behavior.”

“I want to apologize to everyone. I messed up. What I did was really bad. I’m so sorry I didn’t get more of them. It’s my own fault. No one else is to blame. I should have come better prepared,” he said.
