Every now and then, a politician, or pundit, or surrogate will gift comedians and media with a blurb that gives a seemingly endless fountain of irony. Trump chief advisor Kellyanne Conway was kind enough to gift us with two. In the wake of “alternative facts,” we now have the “Bowling Green Massacre.”
Speaking to MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, Conway said:
“I bet it’s brand-new information to people that President Obama had a six-month ban on the Iraqi refugee program after two Iraqis came here to this country, were radicalized and were the masterminds behind the Bowling Green massacre. Most people don’t know that because it didn’t get covered.”
Now, protesters are introducing a new tactic in their efforts to oppose President Trump’s administration, namely the art of satire. This Friday, vigils starting popping up honoring the victims of the BG Massacre — victims that don’t exist and a massacre that never happened.
According to The Huffington Post, protesters showed up at the Bowling Green subway station in New York City chanting slogans such as “Never remember, always forget” and “What do we want? Alternative facts. When do we want them? Right now.”
We are holding vigils all day for our toddlers' imaginary friends who were brutally taken from us in the Bowling Green Massacre.
