Police dog attacks and bites his own handler who was arresting robbery suspect

A police dog in Indiana attacked a Lafayette Police officer who was serving an arrest warrant on a robbery suspect, the Journal & Courier reported.

The department’s Street Crime Unit was alongside a Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office deputy and his police dog when they came across Justice Rose, 27, who was wanted on warrant for robbery, at a gas station.

While Rose was being taken into custody, the dog been the deputy on his calf muscle. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Rose was later booked into jail on the warrant.

Police say the deputy and his K9 are still on patrol together after the incident.
