Rand Paul: I’m canceling my DirecTV service because they canceled OAN

Kentucky GOP Sen. Rand Paul has announced that he’s canceling his DirecTV service after the company said it plans to drop the right-wing One America News (OAN) from its listings.

“Why give money to people who hate us?” Paul tweeted on Monday.

This Friday, DirecTV announced that after a “routine internal review,” the company will not be renewing its contract with the network. Unsurprisingly, the move sparked a wave of pushback from fans of the network.

“The Left’s purge continues: -YouTube demonetizes Dan Bongino. -DirectTV drops One America News. -Twitter suspends Dr. Malone. Who’s next?” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) tweeted.

“Pretty convenient that this comes within a week after Biden begged companies to silence ‘misinformation’, meaning his opposition,” said Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO).

OAN is among other conservative media outlets that have been sued for defamation for spreading false information about the 2020 election.
