‘Religious freedom’ versus ‘religious persecution’ explained in one simple comic by Alan Bao

Alan Bao is a designer, illustrator, and “part-time dancing monkey” according to his Twitter bio. He also creates some very poignant comics, his latest being about the questionable conservative crusade regarding “religious freedom.”

His latest piece, simply titled “Religious Freedom” and first published by The Friendly Atheist blog, is especially timely considering the latest news out of Georgia and North Carolina. The imagery is a bit ‘fecal,” but it drives the point home perfectly. Many religious conservatives characterize the pushback from the LGBT community and their allies against recent anti-gay legislation as “persecution.”

Most with a rational mind know that argument is silly. When illustrated in simple terms, its rebuke is even more powerful.
