Rex Tillerson didn’t call Trump a ‘moron’ — he called Trump a ‘f*cking moron’

After a bombshell report highlighted serious tensions between Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and President Trump, one of the report’s contributors made a point to clarify just how frustrated Tillerson is.

On Wednesday morning, NBC News published a report citing inside sources who detailed the deteriorating relationship between Trump and Tillerson. The report alleges that during a July meeting with cabinet members and national security team members, Tillerson trashed Trump, calling him a “moron.” In addition, the report also alleges that Tillerson had to be talked out of resigning from his position out of frustration last summer.

“The tensions came to a head around the time President Donald Trump delivered a politicized speech in late July to the Boy Scouts of America, an organization Tillerson once led,” NBC reports. That speech reportedly happened just days after Tillerson allegedly called Trump a moron.

In an appearance on MSNBC after the story broke, story contributor Stephanie Ruhle clarified Tillerson’s words regarding Trump:

“My source didn’t just say that he called him a moron,” Ruhle said. “He said an f*ing moron.”

Although Trump took to Twitter later in the day to say the NBC report was “denied” by Tillerson and Mike Pence, Ruhle pointed out that Tillerson never actually denied saying the word.
