Rick Perry Compares ‘Courageous’ Anti-Gay Activists to Abolitionists (VIDEO)

Appearing on a broadcast with the Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins this Sunday, GOP Texas Governor Rick Perry called gay rights the “flavor of the month” and a “pop culture” trend that would “tear apart” the Boy Scouts of America.

Perry suggested that activists who say the Boy Scouts should maintain its discriminatory policy towards gays are examples of the “principled leadership” of anti-slavery and anti-secession lawmakers during the Civil War.
