Right-wing pastor pushes California recall election conspiracies: Newsom’s win ‘is not what happened’

During a recent sermon, California right-wing pastor Jack Hibbs made sure to cast doubt on the results of the state’s recent recall election, where Gov. Gavin Newsom won over his conservative challenger Larry Elder.

“I would be devastated if we lost,” Hibbs said. “That’s not what happened.”

“And there’s a lot of amazing works going on right now — there are groups going out and they’re interviewing people, trying to find people who voted ‘no’ on the recall, and they’re trying to find people who didn’t vote for Larry Elder.”

According to Hibbs, these people can’t be found.

“It’s amazing,” he continued. “So, there’s a lot going on. The official end of the election results isn’t until October 22, so who knows? Be praying that the truth comes out. That’d be pretty cool.”
