Rudy Giuliani: ‘I was there on 9/11 and I don’t remember seeing Hillary Clinton’

While introducing Donald Trump at a rally in Ocala, Florida this Wednesday, Rudy Giuliani claimed that he never saw Hillary Clinton near the site of the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001.

“Don’t tell me if you said that you remember Sept. 11, 2001,” Giuliani said. “I remember Sept. 11, 2001. Yes, yes, you helped to get benefits for the people who were injured that day. But I heard her say that she was there that day. I was there that day, I don’t remember seeing Hillary Clinton there. That was like when she said she had to run through gunfire. That turned out to be, what do we call it? A lie.”

But Giuliani comments are misleading, since photo evidence proves that Hillary was seen by Giuliani’s side 24 hours after the attacks.

“But don’t tell me that you subscribe to the notion that all of us who were there on Sept. 11, and we’re lucky to have been alive and lost so many friends,” Giuliani said. “I lost so many friends on Sept. 11, I think about it every day. Don’t tell me you belong to our very, very tight group of ‘never forget.’ Don’t tell me that.”

From ThinkProgress:

As far as ThinkProgress could discern, there’s no record of Hillary Clinton ever saying she was at Ground Zero on September 11, 2001. Indeed, Clinton was not in New York City that day.

But as Clinton detailed during a recent interview with CNN, she traveled to Ground Zero the very next day. In fact, numerous photos of her at the site with Giuliani exist.
