On his radio show this week, Rush Limbaugh floated a new conspiracy theory, suggesting that the National Hurricane Center is “playing games” with its data to scare people into believing in climate change.
“It’s in the interest of the left to have destructive hurricanes because then they can blame it on climate change, which they can desperately continue trying to sell,” he said.
Limbaugh claimed that he’s “perfected” his ability to “analyze how hurricanes are reported and is now “an expert in spotting the politics in hurricane tracking and hurricane forecasting.”
He then mocked President Barack Obama for “actually telling people that global warming, that climate change is having a very profound impact on the war on Syria.”
“…it’s in the interest of the left to have destructive hurricanes because then they can blame it on climate change, which they can desperately continue trying to sell,” Limbaugh said during his rant.
“We had 11 years of no hurricanes,” he continued. “Eleven straight years of no major hurricanes striking land in the United States, which just bores a hole right through the whole climate change argument.”
Never mind that dozens of hurricanes have made landfall in the U.S. since 2005.
Limbaugh has been on quite a roll lately. Posting on his official Facebook page last week, Limbaugh said that “Solar panels are not sustainable,” wondering “what do you do when the sun’s down at night? What do you do when the clouds obscure the sun?”
This little chuck of stupidity was on top of another rant on the September 28 edition of his show, where he warned his listeners that media fact-checkers are just implementing the liberal agenda.
“The fact that The New York Times, and The Washington Post, and USA Today, and all these other papers and networks now have fact-checkers is for one reason. It allows them to fool you into thinking they have an objective, nonpartisan staff or person analyzing everything the candidates are saying, and telling you what they’re saying is true, or what they’re saying is false.”
