Sarah Sanders: Trump’s church photo op stunt ‘is the kind of leadership we need’

Former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders made an appearance on Fox Business today, where she praised President Donald Trump for his “courageous leadership,” referring to the president’s decision to stand in front of a church while holding a bible.

“Look, the people who desecrated St. John’s Church — that is an act of true cowardice,” she said. “The President standing up in front of the country, holding a bible, standing before a church, that’s a sign of courageous leadership.”

Then she claimed Trump is trying to find ways to bring people together because he supports those who protest without using violence.

“And that’s the type of leadership that we need,” Huckabee Sanders said. “The President was looking for a way to bring people together. He’s been very clear, he supports the peaceful protests.”

“But this is a country of law and order. The President’s number one job is to keep us safe, and in order to keep us safe, we have to have law and order.”
