Scientists say this is the most soothing piece of music ever recorded. What do you think?

According to scientists, the piece of music you’re about to hear is the most relaxing melody ever recorded.

Its ability to reduce your heart rate, blood pressure and stress levels is above all other melodies. Skeptical? So are we. Apparently, the 8-minute track is so relaxing it shouldn’t be listened to while driving.

From The Telegraph:

Manchester trio Marconi Union worked with sound therapists to create the soothing tune, which also slows breathing and reduces brain activity.

Scientists played the song to 40 women and found it to be more effective at helping them relax than songs by Enya, Mozart and Coldplay.

The study – commissioned by bubble bath and shower gel firm Radox Spa – found the song was even more relaxing than a massage, walk or cup of tea.

Now, we here at DeadState are lovers of science – but we think there are some things that can’t be narrowed down by a simple study – and the transcendent power of music is one of those things.

Have a listen (maybe earphones are best) and decide for yourself:
