Footage has emerged from inside one of the two Lebanese mosques that were hit with bomb attacks this Friday, killing at least 27 people and signaling a sharp turn for the worst in the fragile Middle East country.
The explosions heightened concerns that Lebanon is entering a period of retaliatory Sunni versus Shiite attacks that target civilians. Just eight days before the recent round of bombings, a car bomb killed at least 21 people in the Shiite suburb of Beirut.
The footage shows a cleric in the middle of a sermon when the explosion is detonated. From the camera angle, it seems as though the bomb was positioned just in front of the podium.
