Many agree that if anyone’s reporting is going to take down the Trump administration, it’s going to be MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.
Now, according a tweet that’s causing a ruckus, she’s claiming the Holy Grail of Trump intrigue.
BREAKING: We've got Trump tax returns. Tonight, 9pm ET. MSNBC.
(Seriously).

“BREAKING: We’ve got Trump tax returns. Tonight, 9pm ET. MSNBC. (Seriously),” read the tweet from Maddow’s official Twitter account.

It is unclear from Maddow’s post how the network obtained the documents. Trump is the first president in decades to not publicly release his tax returns.
Trump has previously said he would not release them while he is being audited by the IRS, but the IRS has noted that an audit would not prevent anyone from releasing the information on their own.
The White House has released a statement in response to Maddow.
“You know you are desperate for ratings when you are willing to violate the law to push a story about two pages of tax returns from over a decade ago,” the statement read.

Maddow followed up with a tweet saying that the taxes are from the year 2005:
