A South Carolina youth pastor has been charged after he admitted to video-recording a woman as she showered, WYFF reported.
Daniel Kellan Mayfield, 35, was charged with voyeurism after he was arrested. First Baptist Gowensville confirmed to WYFF that Mayfield was a youth pastor at the church. He was fired when news spread of his arrest.
According to a court filing, police were called to the woman’s home after she spotted someone outside her bathroom window. When she went outside, the woman says he saw Mayfield standing in her backyard.
The filing says Mayfield admitted to recording the woman after her sister confronted him. According to Fox Carolina, he handed over the video and allowed the woman to view it.
The woman also showed police security video of Mayfield committing the act.
Mayfield’s Linked In page says he previously worked as an event coordinator with Compassion International, was a missions director at Student Life in Birmingham, Alabama and was a ministry associate at Child Evangelism Fellowship in Roebuck.
