The images of war are more graphic and detailed than they’ve ever been before, thanks to the advent of cellphone video and the Internet.
Thanks to these mediums, the terror of fighting on the front lines of a conflict can be brought right into your living room, or couch, or wherever you happen to have your laptop open. Many of these images are coming from Syria, where rebel fighters document their daily skirmishes against the Assad government with their cellphone cameras – and sometimes they capture incredible things like the video below.
Not much is known about who shot the video, but it apparently comes from a rebel sniper. The video captures the exact moment when a ATGM (anti-tank guided missile) is launched directly at the sniper’s position.
