A California high school teacher has been arrested and charged with having sex with a 16-year-old male student, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department announced.
Tracy Vanderhulst, 38, who was a teacher at Yucaipa High School, was charged Thursday with unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. She is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
As KTLA 5 points out, she was named “Teacher of the Year” at the high school in 2017.
In a now-deleted tweet, the school said Vanderhulst “offers up a rigorous mathematics curriculum and deep caring for her students.”
Investigators say there may be more victims.
