Televangelist Kenneth Copeland: Texas shooter was ‘demon possessed’ — so blame the Devil, not him

During a TV address to his followers, Christian televangelist Kenneth Copeland gave this thoughts as to why the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, took place. According to Copeland, you shouldn’t blame the shooter.

“Why do bad things happen to good people?” is the question Copeland says people pose to him after tragedies such as Uvalde. “Because, a demon-possessed young man decided he just wanted to kill a bunch of people,” Copeland declared.

Copeland went to say that it takes an advanced practice of Christianity to come to the realization that the Uvalde shooter wasn’t responsible for his actions.

“Find it somewhere, by faith — move over into that area where you begin to say, ‘I’m not holding this against him, I’m holding the Devil responsible for this,'” Copeland continued, adding that those who don’t believe in the Devil should surely believe in him now in the wake of the shooting.

“This book,” Copeland said while holding up the Bible, “this Holy Bible is record of [the Devil’s] defeat by Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who went to Hell so you and I don’t have to.”
