A young Texas pastor was attacked and beaten for being caught allegedly sexually abusing a 6-year-old child. The attackers told Fox4 that they attacked the pastor in an attempt to stop the abuse.
Twenty-nine-year-old Willie Lee Bell Jr. was arrested by Dallas Police who said that he lured the 6-year-old kindergartner behind an apartment and molested him. Bell was a pastor at First United Methodist Church of Cedar Hill where he was looking into setting up a mentor program at Bray Elementary. Witnesses caught Bell abusing the child Thursday afternoon and proceeded to beat him.
“It’s painful. It’s devastating. It’s a nightmare,” the mother of the victim said
“If it wasn’t for them, he probably would have done more to my child.”
Bell is also associated with a February sexual assault of two other children who are ages 6 and 7. According to Fox4, “Bell has been accused of showing pornographic videos to a child in Tennessee.”
The United Methodist Church of North Texas said in a statement that it had no knowledge of any criminal acts happening at the church and it is cooperating with police.
