You probably know that yesterday, Donald Trump flew to Mexico City to meet Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto. You probably don’t know that they’re now having what amounts to a feud on Twitter.
After the viral WTF moment, Trump claimed to the press that he and Nieto didn’t discuss the GOP nominee’s proposed border wall – of which he plans to have Mexico pay for. Trump, like a petulant child, then slithered away to a rally in Phoenix where he delivered a bizarre speech about immigration that rivaled some of his most hateful rhetoric to date.
On Twitter this morning, Trump reiterated his declaration that Mexico is going to foot the bill for the wall.
Mexico will pay for the wall!

Nieto, who is catching hell in his country (he’s already widely disliked) for letting Trump off the hook for his anti-Mexican talking points, replied to Trump later in the afternoon:
Repito lo que le dije personalmente, Sr. Trump: México jamás pagaría por un muro. https://t.co/IJNVe0XepY
— Enrique Peña Nieto (@EPN) September 1, 2016
This translates to, “Repeating what I told you in person, Mr. Trump: Mexico will never pay for a wall.”
It looks like the bromance that never was is already over.
