Trump boasts to evangelicals that he has stopped the war on religion

During a speech Friday night at Miami’s King Jesus International Ministry, President Donald Trump boasted to evangelicals that he has saved their religion from progressives who wish to destroy it. He bragged that he destroyed the war on Christmas and claimed he stopped the government’s war on religion, AzCentral reports. Then he warned that he’s the only person who can defend the devout and their churches against persecution from Democratic presidential candidates.

King Jesus Ministries was founded by pastor Guillermo Maldonado, who promotes the “prosperity gospel” and who believes Trump is a harbinger of the End Times and therefore raised by God to herald the second coming of Christ.

Trump rallied the congregation with promises of defending their faith.

“With millions upon millions of evangelical voters, Christian voters and voters of every faith, we will preserve our heritage, we will defend our liberty, we will reclaim our destiny, we will strengthen our families, we will build up our communities, we will restore the role of faith and true foundation of American life.”

“Today, in churches all across our land, believers are defending our God-given freedoms,” he said. “We need every single person here today to talk to your families, talk to your neighbors, share our message of national renewal.”

Maldonado has previously warned that civil war is coming. He said as much during the 2019 Global Prophetic Summit in November, noting that God had sent a warning.

“America, I have prepared this time,” he said, “I have raised somebody in office to open the doors for my gospels. The Lord showed me what is going to happen in America. The Lord said: ‘What you saw, there’s a white horse that has been released upon the earth of civil wars. That horse is coming upon America.”
