Former President Donald Trump took a swipe at his own daughter after footage of her testimony to the House committee investigating the Capitol riot was aired during the committee’s first hearing this Thursday.
Trump made the comment in a post to his social media platform Truth Social in response to Ivanka Trump‘s comments after she was asked what she thought about former Attorney General Bill Barr’s assessment that claims about the 2020 election being stolen were “bullsh**.”
“It affected my perspective. I respect Attorney General Barr so I accepted what he said,” Ms. Trump said in a video shown during the hearing.
Those words were apparently too much for Trump to ignore, prompting him to take to Truth Social with his own version of events.
“Ivanka Trump was not involved in looking at, or studying, Election results,” Trump wrote. “She had long since checked out and was, in my opinion, only trying to be respectful to Bill Barr and his position as Attorney General (he sucked!).”
