Trump takes the stage at Iowa rally while background song about ‘going to prison’ plays

As former President Donald Trump walked onto the stage at the Iowa GOP’s Lincoln Dinner this Friday, the music playing in the background was a song about going to prison.

The song playing as Trump took the stage was “Only In America” by Brooks & Dunn.

“…one could end up going to prison, one just might be president,” blared the lyrics to the song.

The audience likely didn’t notice the song choice, which could be seen as awkward given the indictments and investigations facing the former president.

“Iowa has never had a better friend in the White House,” Trump said, promising to “obliterate the deep state.”

“By the way, if I weren’t running, I would have nobody coming after me. Or if I was losing by a lot, I would have nobody coming after me,” he said.
