Trump to Mike Huckabee: ‘Crazy woke people’ want to stop Jews and Muslims from saying ‘Merry Christmas’

During a recent interview on Newsmax with former President Donald Trump, Mike Huckabee declared him to be the winner in the War on Christmas and praised him for allowing Americans to say “Merry Christmas” again.

“America had gone through a long period where people quit saying ‘Merry Christmas’ — it was all ‘Happy Holidays,'” Huckabee said to Trump. “You deliberately changed that and openly said, ‘Merry Christmas! We’re gonna say it again.’ Why was that important?”

Trump, soaking in Huckabee’s praise, said that the country was overtaken by “woke” which “made it embarrassing for stores to say ‘Merry Christmas’ — you’d see these big chains, they want your money but they don’t want to say ‘Merry Christmas.'”

“And they’d use reds and they’d use whites and snow but they wouldn’t say ‘Christmas,'” Trump continued, adding that he started telling people to say the traditional greeting during his campaign, which “brought it back very quickly.”

According to Huckabee, saying “Merry Christmas” isn’t meant to exclude anybody. It’s “just a celebration of what America does at Christmas.”

Trump had some additional thoughts as well:

“And whether you’re Muslim, whether you’re Christian, whether you’re Jewish, everyone loves Christmas, and they say Merry Christmas until these crazy people came along and they wanted to stop it along with everything else.”
