While speaking at a rally in Selma, North Carolina, this Saturday, former President Donald Trump made a claim about himself that his critics will likely take exception to.
“I’ve got to be the cleanest sheriff. I think I’m the most honest human being, perhaps, that God ever created,” Trump said to smatterings of laughter from the audience. “I’ve been investigated by the Democrats more the Billy the Kid, Jessie James, and Al Capone combined.”
While it’s likely that Trump doesn’t even believe this claim himself and he’s just saying it to get a rise out of clickbait bloggers like me, The Washington Post has found that Trump made 30,573 false or misleading claims during his presidency, with an average of 21 lies per day.
