While speaking to reporters about the coronavirus at the Atlanta Centers for Disease Control this Friday, President Trump revealed to the world that he’s actually a man of science, so much so that he could have taken a different career path.
According to Trump, doctors he’s encountered as his administration tries to tackle the growing outbreak have expressed to him how impressed they are with his knowledge of infectious diseases.
“I like this stuff,” Trump said. “I really get it … Every one of these doctors said, ‘How do you know so much about this?’ Maybe I have a natural ability.”
Trump muses that he could’ve become a research scientist instead of president.

Trump claimed his interest in epidemiological research was inspired by his “super genius” uncle, Dr. John Trump, who used to teach at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
