Trump’s ‘spiritual adviser’ uses coronavirus to beg for cash: ‘Go deeper in your covenant with God’

It’s not all that long ago since Paula White, who preaches prosperity gospel and serves as President Donald Trump’s “spiritual adviser” lauded him for his recent call for a national day of prayer in response to the coronavirus outbreak. Now she’s using the health crisis to appeal to her followers to not abandon her ministry as the world comes unglued.

In a recent message to her followers, White said that it’s times of crisis where giving to her ministry is most crucial.

“Churches do so much; not just from a humanitarian standpoint, but the greatest thing we do is bring spiritual truth that transforms,” she says in a video. “What we do as ministers of the gospel is so vitally important because every single day, we are a hospital to the sick. Not necessarily the physically sick — although we also help take care of that — many churches have health centers — but we are a hospital for those who are soul-sick, those who are spiritually sick because we bring forth the word of God.”

“It gets deep down in your soul and the way you think and feel about things,” she continues. “Maybe you’d like to sew a $91 seed, and that’s just putting your faith with Psalm 91, or maybe $9, or whatever God tells you to do. … We would love for you to help us and stand with us. We’d love for you to sing with your church. Don’t forget, now is not the time for you to abandon your covenant with God. It’s a time that you go deeper. Stand with your pastor.”
