As an anti-Trump protest outside the White House enters into its seventh consecutive day, participants aren’t showing any signs of letting up.
The former staffer for Hillary Clinton who helped organize the protest, Adam Parkhomenko, said this Saturday that donations totaling $31,144 have rolled in. Now, that figure has been updated to over $50,000.
The protest, dubbed “Occupy Lafayette Park,” has gone on every night since President Trump’s disastrous summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday. Various press accounts show protesters standing along the White House fence holding signs that read “Treason” and other similar sentiments.
Trump was away this weekend to spend time at his New Jersey golf club. But upon his return this Sunday, he was greeted by a throng of protesters chanting a similar slogan to one that first appeared during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Video shared widely across social media shows Trump and First Lady Melania returning to the White House as protesters chant, “Lock him up!” just a few feet away.

With the goal of disrupting Trump’s evenings, the protesters have kept up a stream of noisy bands just outside the White House gates. The performances have included mariachi bands, opera singers, and hip-hop acts.
According to Parkhomenko, drummers will be performing on Pennsylvania Avenue this Monday and Tuesday.
