Videos emerge of gunman stalking victims in Copenhagen shopping mall mass shooting

Several people have been killed in a mass shooting at a shopping mall in Copenhagen this Sunday, Reuters reports.

Danish police say they have arrested a 22-year-old Danish man, adding that they can’t rule out the incident as an act of terrorism. “There are several injured, and what we also know now is that there are several dead,” Chief Police Inspector Soren Thomassen told journalists. A motive for the shooting is not yet known.

From Reuters:

Copenhagen police said officers had been sent to Field’s mall in the Danish capital late on Sunday afternoon after reports of a shooting, and had told people inside the centre to stay put and await assistance.

There was currently no indication that other shooters had been present, police said.

The capital’s main hospital, Rigshospitalet, had received a “small group of patients” for treatment, a spokesman told Reuters. It had called in extra staff, including surgeons and nurses, the spokesman added.

Videos of the gunman walking through the mall and carrying what looks to be a rifle have emerged online. Some say the rifle he was holding is likely a Sauer 200 Scandinavian Target Rifle.
