After it was reported this Thursday that president-elect Donald Trump was waffling on his promise to build a border wall paid for by Mexico, instead sticking American taxpayers with the bill, he tried to clean up the mess by claiming that Mexico would ultimately reimburse the U.S. for the cost.
In a tweet slamming the “dishonest media,” Trump wrote that “any money spent on building the Great Wall (for sake of speed), will be paid back by Mexico later.”
Former Mexico president Vicente Fox begged to differ with Trump’s presumptuousness, reiterating that Mexico will not pay for that “f***** wall.”
TRUMP, when will you understand that I am not paying for that fucken wall. Be clear with US tax payers. They will pay for it.

“Be clear with US tax payers. They will pay for it,” Fox told Trump.
Fox, a long-time critic of the president-elect, blasted Trump’s wall rhetoric earlier in the week as well.
“Trump may ask whoever he wants, but still neither myself nor Mexico are going to pay for his racist monument,” Fox tweeted earlier in the week. “Another promise he can’t keep.”
