Viral video shows guy taking matters into his own hands in response to bratty kid

There’s a video going viral this week that shows a child in a supermarket checkout line repeatedly slamming his toy cart into a person’s leg. When the child’s mother does nothing, the victim takes matters into his own hands.

Anyone who is a parent knows that there are moments when our children take misbehavior to embarrassing levels.

How we as parents deal with these moments in public has long been a subject of debate. But when strangers put in their two cents in regards to how things should be handled, that’s when it can get complicated.

There’s a video going viral this week that shows a child in a supermarket checkout line repeatedly slamming his toy cart into a person’s leg. When the child’s mother does nothing, the victim takes matters into his own hands.

Now, regardless of how the child was acting, I wouldn’t have reacted too kindly if I saw someone do this to a child, let alone my own. But hey, that’s just me.

It’s probably good to mention that with so many fake/staged viral videos circulating the Web, it’s impossible to verify if this is legit. But it passes the smell test for the most part.

If you don’t want your child subject to someone else’s parenting then step up and do your own..

The mom WAS a douche. I think I might have poured it over her head.

I’m an not so convinced this passes the so-called “smell test” However, I was expecting the guy to spank the kid or something but pouring milk on his head was probably justified.

Setup. A) the kid looks off camera at one point for directions. b) the mom then holds her hands in such a way as to push the child forward. c) the mother does noting until the child is ‘crying’. Sorry, this screams setup

Actually, I think the “victim” was probably the boys dad. That, to me, covers all the circumstances of this situation.

I would have kicked the cart across the store, but I have no patience for obnoxious children. If my own preschooler knows how to behave appropriately in public, and would be corrected immediately if she did not act accordingly, I expect the same courtesy from other parents.
    Kid ramming me with cart,
Step 1: Tell child that hurts, and instruct them to stop.
Step 2: Tell parent you are rapidly losing patience with the assault and suggest they get control of their offspring right quick.
Step 3: Yell “ENOUGH!” and kick his stupid little cart across the store.

I am a parent and I’m disgusted when I see kids get away with things like this. I found the best way to solve a situation like this would have been to pick the little cart up off the floor and hand it to the mother and tell her I did NOT want to be assaulted by her child anymore and to take responsibility. (From personal experience – the parent can’t laugh it off and the other people will all be watching so the parent does deal with it).

I would have thrown it on the parent. I blame the parent more than the kid as they are ultimately responsible for their childrens behavior.

I actually poured milk on my own daughter’s head one morning when she was was about 10. It stopped her whining at once and we all laugh about it now. Of course that was the 80’s so no one charged me with child abuse!

Why would there even be a camera around at that spot? And one with such perfect frame-rate and lighting, too?

One could always ask the kid why he’s doing that. Solves the problem 99% of the time.

The mom’s lack of surprise/response tells me it’s all fake. An adult should NEVER touch a child, with his hands, milk, anything. That’s a serious offense. Warning the mom and then if no help, shoving the cart far away and making a fuss seems like the thing to do. I’m sure the guy with the camera wasn’t the only witness and the guy would have had plenty of sympathizers.

No. Totally fake. Look at the camera angle. Who would put a camera there? Not for security, then why is someone filming? Please. FAKE.

This passed the smell test? Since when are video cameras set up at knee level at the perfect height to catch the perfectly framed action. Yeah. Right.
