Victor, a trained white-tailed eagle, soars from the top of the Eiffel Tower to the city of Paris below – at an amazing 111 miles per hour to the Trocadéro Gardens — where he nails a perfect landing on his handler’s waiting arm.
The bird’s-eye view footage was made possible by fastening a Sony Action Cam to the eagle’s back.
The flight took place this past September and was part of an event organized by FREEDOM, a non-profit group working to bring the white-tailed eagle back to France where it has been extinct for over 50 years. The group is also producing a fictional film about white-tailed eagles, entitled “Freedom, an Eagle Takes Flight,” as part of their fundraising efforts.
