What if atheists treated Christians the way Christians treat atheists?

The religion debate will be an ongoing thing, regardless of how science and culture “evolve.”

But in light of the silly “War on Religion” hysteria that’s disseminated by the right, it’s important to think about how it would look if the shoe was on the other foot — and that’s what Dustin Curry does so well in the video below.

Dustin is an interesting guy and he has a lot of cool projects on his YouTube channel.

Curry’s latest video tells the tale of a lonely fiddle player who finds himself lost and abandoned deep in a cave. He can’t seem to remember how he got there and he can’t find a way out.

Through “wordless storytelling,” clowning and a bit of theatrical magic, the Fiddler must search his past for answers and find a way home.

You can check that out and other examples of his stuff here.

I liked it. Atheists and Christians alike see these things so often that it’s just invisible. It sure does sound different when the context changes. I’d love to see the day when an NFL player makes a touchdown and instead of pointing at the sky, points at the guy who threw the ball to him.

Mildly amusing. Atheists dont exactly have the talent to produce theater quality productions about atheism, so we have to endure this.

The real face of atheists is angry people dragging Christians to court over atheist’s complete misunderstanding of the 1st Amendment. Meanwhile believers in God have established thousands of help organizations and a large number of our hospitals and Ivy league schools, as well as giving us some of the greatest scientists the world has ever known.

Even the co-worker who is always “concerned” about you ever lasting soul and trying to convert you. The gangster rap and Christian rock dichotomy is spot on. And when I worked at the Clallam county Road Crew while in JR College that hay seed voiced, “if you don’t like Jesus, get out of America!” is SPOT ON. These may not be all Christians, but it certainly is a lot of them!

Historically atheists arrest us, torture us, and put us in concentration camps where they occasionally shoot us. (That only happens when atheists get enough power to do what they want. Hasn’t happened here…. yet. Yet.)

I keep hearing about how bad Christians treat atheists, so a lot of loudmouths who call themselves atheists use it to justify their behavior toward us. Which Christians historically have been ill-behaved, today there’s a difference: the witch hunts were a long damn time ago. I personally know victims of atheist run “reeducation” camps. Some taught me Russian. (Given the number of priests and nuns killed by “scientific atheists” these last 100 years, you think they’d call it even about Galileo.)

When has this historically happened? Are you talking about gulags? Because they weren’t Christian concentration camps. I’m sure there we’re Christians there, but they weren’t the only ones. There we’re Christians in Auschwitz too, but Hitler was a Christian. If like to see where you’re getting these numbers on dead Christians because if I recall correctly, Christians have been killing atheists, Jews and Muslims for centuries with very little, if any, retaliation. Go pretend to be persecuted somewhere else.

Must be why Nazis had “Gott Mit Uns” on their belt buckles. They were Christians persecuting Jews, because the Jews killed their imaginary friend a few thousand years ago. The Inquisition, Crusades, 30 Years War, Witch Trials….those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Face it, Christians have a long, bloody history of killing people who don’t believe in their god. Now they’re being treated like everyone else and it makes them whiney little babies.

I feel as if everyone is offended because he is either bashing all christians or agreeing with all athiests when in fact the problem is most christians dont act like christians and because of it, athiests always have this happen to them. If we Christians pulled ourselves together and did what the Bible really said and loved others regardless of who they are without judgement things would be different. Yes, we have commandments to follow. But that does not mean we can banish people to hell for not believe what we believe because not everyone is raised the same way. We have the freedom to choose and so do they. We have sinned. All sinned. That doesnt make anyone any better than anyone else because there is no such thing as perfection.

I’m not sure where you live or what kind of friends you have, but this is not true for most Christians out there. At least not any under 45-50 years old, which means they won’t be here for all that much longer. I’ve actually never had a Mormon come up to my door, and some would argue if that’s even Christianity. I’ve only had Jehovah’s Witnesses knock on my door, and some would argue the same thing about them too.
I’ve also never had a friend or known of anyone who has turned off the T.V. (or whatever) to sit down and have an intense convo about how they’re worried about the other person’s soul. Not unless it was some drug intervention or something.

Buterfunk, I don’t know a ton about Jehovah’s Witness, but Mormonism does not fit with Christianity due to its belief in polytheism. Just pointing that out. Christianity believes in one God with divine power over all. Mormonism believes in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as three separate beings under one purpose. Christianity shows that they are all one celestial being, thus, the trinity. Have a nice day.

You may not be one of these people, but us atheists have to deal with that kind of crap all the time, like we’re bad people because we don’t believe in the same things that others do.
