Woman accuses Black man of stealing her phone — then finds it was in her purse all along

A video circulating Reddit shows a woman accusing a Black man of stealing her phone, when the phone was in her purse the entire time.

The video starts showing the woman rifling through her purse and arguing with a couple inside a store, one of whom she accused of walking behind her and swiping her phone. At one point, a suggestion is made that someone call her phone, but the woman said that the ringer was likely turned off if the man stole it.

“I really need my phone back,” the woman says while looking at the man.

“You can pat me down if you want,” the man tells the woman after emptying his pockets.

The store employee finally offers the woman his phone so she could dial her number. Sure enough, the sound of a phone ringing could be heard, and the sound was emanating from her purse.

The woman tried to apologize, but the couple was having none of it.
