Woman who pushed 74-year-old lady into the street at California bus stop is arrested and charged

A woman who was caught on security video assaulting a 74-year-old woman at a bus stop in Southern California has been arrested, ABC 7 reported.

Amber Jackson, 27, has been charged with one count of felony battery and one count of elder abuse. She was arrested this Thursday and her bail was set at $50,000.

Socorro de la Mora was found by police with injuries that included bruising under her eyes. “Emotionally, she’s devastated, you know?” Jesus Ramirez about his mother. “She can’t go out the house because she doesn’t feel safe anymore.”

Police say Jackson approached de la Mora at the bus stop in Long Beach, California, and allegedly called the victim a name before pushing her into the street. Jackson fled the scene before police arrived.

A motive for the May 19 incident is still being investigated.
