American evangelical Christians have created a terror state for gays in Uganda

There’s been an ongoing debate on social media and the pundit sphere about the moral equivalency of violent acts carried out by Christians in the past as opposed to the current climate of Islamic terrorism.

While the debate sometimes becomes a way for both sides to dodge ownership of the extremists in their respective camps, an episode of VICE from February revealed how American mainstream fundamentalist Christians – with ties to Republicans in Washington — are participating in a very real terror campaign against the gay populations of Africa, especially in Uganda.

The mini-documentary exposed how Uganda became synonymous with its “Kill The Gays” bill which generated international condemnation. It became law and then was tossed out by the Ugandan Supreme Court, but only on a technicality.

VICE interviewed Ugandan Member of Parliament David Bahati, who authored the bill. Bahati is a member of the secretive Washington, D.C.-based organization known as “The Family,” which has helped to coordinate the war against LGBT people in Uganda.

From the New Civil Rights Movement:

In the VICE episode, Bahati refuses to name any one of his American partners, but [GOP Senator James Inhofe] is clearly one. Also among Bahati’s supporters and partners are Scott Lively, Pastor Rick Warren, Sharon Slater, and the World Congress of Families. And Bahati makes clear he and his country support the culture these American Christian extremists have brought to Uganda – one that teaches, falsely, that gay people are all pedophiles, homosexuality is a choice, it is evil, and children must be protected from it at all costs.

VICE reporter Isobel Yeung interviewed a man in Kampala who openly admitted that he wouldn’t hesitate to kill another man he believed to be gay. Women are subject to a different form of treatment.

“If we find a woman with a woman, we pull out one and do it to her. We have sex with her. We cannot allow a woman to have sex with a fellow woman,” the man said.

This is what happens when primitive savages believe the unbelievable and promote violence, hate and filth. I am of course speaking of Scott Lively and his American christian ilk. I used to think that christians were good people. Now upon meeting people who claim to be christian I perceive them as rattlesnakes until they have proven otherwise.

This is shameful – This brand of “Christianity” is particularly hateful and violent, and they’ve brought it to a country that has so many much bigger problems. There is no excuse for infecting these people with their religious fanaticism and hate. Only bad can come of it. They don’t care. They – are evildoers.

Primitive savages? You mean people systematically oppressed by white people saying they atrw coming to help? How stupid and close minded can be? I hope you hang by your privilege and entitlement.

    Bill Cunningham
John Hagee is the most loathsome creature in America. Saw him in San Antonio restaurant once bedecked in designer clothes and gold choker–blood money for his ministry of hate. He has the blood of Americans on his hands from his hideous admonitions. Now he is spreading his poison to foreign land. Satan disguised in the garb of a holy man.

The fact that even one of our U.S. Senators has blood on his hands from this Satanic exploitation of Uganda’s gays is totally unacceptable. In my book, it is grounds for his immediate expulsion from office and arrest. Sen. Inhofe and his so-called “Christian” schemers are inciting genocide, plain and simple, and the FBI should not be standing by idly while this happens.

The Christians have conveniently evolved to ignore the part of their history, from it’s infancy, through the “Dark Ages”, where unspeakable atrocities were performed, just as they cherry pick and choose what parts of this non-god written book they hold in such high regard, even though there is plenty of (REAL) evidence that most of it should be ignored, as any other material written by goat herders and pharohs of the first through third centuries.

You really make it seem really easy with your presentation however I to find this topic to be really something that I think I’d by no means understand. It kind of feels too complex and extremely large for me. I’m taking a look forward to your next publish, I’ll attempt to get the hold of it!

I do agree with all the ideas you have presented in your post. They are very convincing and will definitely work. Still, the posts are too short for novices. Could you please extend them a little from next time? Thanks for the post.
