Twitter slams media hysteria over Hillary Clinton’s health

Hillary Clinton was diagnosed with pneumonia this Friday, which may have led to her feeling “overheated and dehydrated” at a 9/11 memorial event this Sunday, causing her to leave the event.

“Secretary Clinton has been experiencing a cough related to allergies. On Friday, during follow up evaluation of her prolonged cough, she was diagnosed with pneumonia,” Clinton’s doctor, Lisa Bardack, said in a statement.

“She was put on antibiotics, and advised to rest and modify her schedule. While at this morning’s event, she became overheated and dehydrated. I have just examined her and she is now re-hydrated and recovering nicely.”

The incident sparked a wide array of speculation about the Democratic nominee’s health from both conservative and liberal websites.

While critiques of the campaign’s lack of transparency regarding her pneumonia diagnosis are valid, unfounded speculation about Clinton’s eligibility to be president dominated most of the media narrative.

Nevertheless, Clinton’s supporters are taking to Twitter to express their support, saying that her soldiering through the illness is a testament to her strength and toughness, while others say that a woman getting up and going to work despite being sick is nothing new.
