Ann Coulter: If Trump doesn’t build the wall, he basically ‘scammed the American people’

Lately, one of Trump’s biggest critics is Ann Coulter. Although her criticisms are usually for all the wrong reasons, she’s been consistent nonetheless, calling him out for breaking promises he made during the campaign.

Speaking to The Daily Caller this Wednesday, Coulter said that she won’t vote for Trump in 2020 if construction on the border wall isn’t underway by then. She also predicted that most of his supporters would abandon him as well.

Coulter said it lately seems as if Trump’s presidency is only to “make money,” adding that if the wall doesn’t happen, Trump’s presidency will be “a joke.”

“They’re about to have a country where no Republican will ever be elected president again,” she said. “Trump will just have been a joke presidency who scammed the American people, amused the populists for a while, but he’ll have no legacy whatsoever.”

Coulter was one of Trump’s most vocal and loyal supporters early on, but that tone changed after what she perceived to be his waffling on hardline immigration policies that she supported. In March of this year, she slammed Trump over his signing of a $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill, which she said failed to deliver on his promise to build a US-Mexico border wall.

During that same month, Coulter commented on Trump’s troubles with porn star Stormy Daniels, who claimed that she slept with Trump only once.

“So Stormy says she and Trump had sex only once,” Coulter tweeted on March 26. “I guess if you want the guy to screw you repeatedly, you have to be one of his voters.”

This Wednesday, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said that the GOP would propose a continuing resolution without border wall funding, which would keep the government open until February 8.

Coulter said that if Trump were to back the resolution, he would be reversing his “line in the sand” he ultimatum from last week when he told Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer that he would be “proud to shutdown the government” if the border wall isn’t funded.
