Brock Turner’s dad launched a fundraiser for supporters to help pay for his son’s legal fees

The father of Stanford rapist Brock Turner reportedly turned to the Internet to fund his son’s legal feels.

According to WHIO, a woman who described herself as “a lifelong friend, mother and person who has watched this family grow” launched a Facebook page called the ““Turner Family Support Fund” on the behalf of Brock’s parents, Dan and Carleen Turner.

The page, which had about 40 fans and has now been deleted (it’s been saved in an online cache here), called on supporters to “ease the financial burden that his situation has caused.”

“[Brock’s parents] are dealing with a monumental life-changing and tragic situation with Brock, and their expenses continue to mount. As a mother and friend, I would do anything to help my child and save him,” The Facebook page’s description read. “I know that while we are not experiencing what they are feeling, my heart and faith continue to want to help and be supportive.”

From WHIO:

A customer service representative for Wright-Patt Credit Union confirmed Dan Turner created the account for the family and said the credit union account is still active.

Dan Turner has faced a huge backlash over his seemingly dismissive comments in a letter to the judge, where he said that his son’s conviction was a “steep price to pay for 20 minutes of action.”
