This Thursday, the principal of Holy Family Catholic School in Port Allen, Louisiana, took a little detour during a school field trip to Washington D.C. and ended up getting arrested at a strip club, WAFB9 reports.
According to police, Michael Comeau was “intoxicated man refusing to pay his bill” at D.C.’s Archibald’s Gentlemen’s Club. He was also “observed standing in the roadway, refusing to move.” When he was asked by police multiple times to move away from the roadway, he reportedly refused.
He was ultimately arrested for public intoxication and and having an open container of alcohol in public. He also reportedly had a service dog with him at the strip club.
In the wake of his arrest, the Diocese of Baton Rouge released a statement acknowledging the incident.
“The Diocese of Baton Rouge confirmed today that Michael Comeau, principal at Holy Family School in Port Allen, was arrested on May 30 while on a school sponsored trip to Washington, DC,” the statement read. “The incident occurred when the students on the trip were in their hotel rooms for the evening under the supervision of other chaperones. Mr. Comeau had been principal of Holy Family School for five years and prior to that time had served in public education in the surrounding area.”
The Diocese added that Comeau has resigned his position has principle and an interim principal has taken his place.
