Dr. Drew’s show is canceled after he pushes right wing conspiracies about Hillary Clinton’s mental health

Last week, Christmas came early for conspiracy theorists when Dr. Drew Pinsky declared that he was “gravely” concerned for Hillary Clinton’s health. This Thursday, the HLN network announced that his show Dr. Drew On Call will be canceled.

“It has been a privilege working at HLN,” Dr. Drew said in a statement. “My executive producer Burt Dubrow and our outstanding staff and contributors were consistently exceptional. I am very excited to stay within the CNN Worldwide family as a contributor.”

On August 17, Dr. Drew appeared on KABC’s McIntyre in the Morning and legitimized the right wing conspiracy that claims Clinton is mentally and physically unfit for the presidency.

From Jezebel:

…Pinsky claimed—based on this letter from Clinton’s New York-based doctor, which notes hypothyroidism, seasonal allergies and a resolved concussion, and declares Clinton in “excellent physical condition”—that Clinton has suffered from “brain damage” and that her care is “old-fashioned” and “bizarre.” The segment fueled conspiracy theories, including a segment on Fox and Friends.

An unexpected debunker of Clinton’s claims was Newt Gingrich, calling Dr. Drew’s comments “kind of junk medicine” during an appearance on Fox and Friends. Gingrish added that the “dubious” claims of doctors giving a “complicated, fancy-sounding analysis” without knowing Clinton crosses a line.

This is not Dr. Drew’s first flirtation with Clinton conspiracy theories. According to the Washington Post, he also claimed that Clinton’s late return to the stage during a Democratic debate was due to brain damage.

She was going to the bathroom. Drew later apologized.

Someone should look into Dr. Drew’s questionable brain function.
