Man robs woman at gunpoint and then later asks her out on a date on Facebook

Police in Indiana say a man robbed a woman at gunpoint but then later asked her out on a date on Facebook. The man also offered to pay the woman back the money he stole, USA Today reported.

The woman was outside her home on May 8 to get the mail when Damien Boyce, 31, walked up to her.

Boyce asked the woman of she lived at the home. When she replied yes, he pulled out a gun. During the ordeal, the woman ended up giving him $100 in cash.

“While pointing the firearm at (the victim), the male asked her to add him as a friend on Facebook so he could pay (the victim) back for the money he stole,” the affidavit said. “The male then gave (the victim) the name of Damien Boyce.”

When Boyce showed her his Facebook profile and told her to add him, she complied. He then fled the scene on a bicycle.

“I thought if maybe I added him on Facebook, he would leave and he did,” the victim told WRTV.

When Boyce accepted her request, he sent her a message, saying, “You was too pretty to rob.”

“I believe you man. I can tell you’re sweet, times just get rough. I know that,” she replied.

He later sent her a message asking her to “come chill.”

Police say the woman didn’t immediately call police after the robbery, but changed her mind after speaking to her boyfriend.
