Marjorie Taylor Greene: The people who stormed the Capitol ‘are being abused’

According to Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene this Tuesday, people who’ve been arrested for taking part in the storming of the U.S. Capitol are “being abused” in federal custody.

Greene made her comments while arguing against a commission to study the Jan. 6 riot, calling the proposed study a “witch hunt” targeting Donald Trump ” and all those who support him.”

“While it’s catch-and-release for domestic terrorists in antifa and BLM, the people who breached the Capitol on January 6 are being abused. Some even being held for 23-hours-a-day in solitary confinement,” Greene said.

“When will the witch hunt of Donald J. Trump and all of those who support him come to an end?” she said.

Speaking to supporters in Georgia earlier this month, Greene said those who stormed the Capitol “are not domestic terrorists.”

“Most of the people they have arrested that did the damage and really were the ones doing it didn’t really vote,” she said. “So I wouldn’t call them Trump supporters, I wouldn’t call them any supporters, they didn’t vote. What they were is they were anti-government.”
